Pour the resulting mixture over the crust.
Bake for about 30 minutes.
Cool completely and refrigerate for an hour.
Take the bar out of the pan, cut into slices, and serve.
Why is my crust dry?
Your crust could turn out dry because you used too much flour. To avoid making this mistake, measure all of your ingredients meticulously. With time, you will learn to use the right measurements without measuring the ingredients. If you’re just starting to learn how to bake, stick to the recipe.
What can I use to combine the flour with butter?
I like using a pastry blender. I think it creates the perfect consistency for your crust. However, you can also try doing it with a food processor. It’s probably easier that way. It all depends on what tools you have at home!
Can I use different nuts?
You can experiment with all kinds of nuts. Keep in mind that it won’t taste the same. The combination of pecans and chocolate is perfect. If you don’t like pecans or don’t have any at home, you can use some other nuts. It won’t be the same recipe, but you might discover something truly special.
*You can also mix crust ingredients in a food processor, but I prefer mixing this way.
**Shortbread crusts like this one can be a bit tricky. The mixture will not hold together on its own, but it should hold together when pinched. Be sure your ingredient measurements are accurate, and press the crust firmly into the bottom of the pan.Ingredients
